Building the First New Cable Landing Station in Washington State in Over Two Decades, Toptana Technologies Aims to Close Digital Divide for Community and Increase Internet Connectivity for the Region
** MEDIA ADVISORY**
HONOLULU – JANUARY 11, 2023 - On the heels of announcing both the establishment of its first Board of Directors and a new partnership with MOX Networks to build a new fiber-optic backhaul network, Toptana Technologies, the only indigenous-owned cable landing station and backhaul network provider on the West Coast of the United States, will participate as a member at PTC’23 in Honolulu from January 15-18, 2023.
Toptana Technologies, an enterprise of the Quinault Indian Nation (QIN), is actively building the foundation for a sustainable, environmentally-conscious and socially responsible pathway to meet the market demand for both transpacific subsea and terrestrial connectivity in the Pacific Northwest, while working to improve the lives of millions left behind in the digital divide.
In addition to MOX Networks, Toptana is backed by a talented coalition of specialized experts that have worked for years together to ensure the best design, construction, and operations for this visionary solution. Some of these initial key partners include: 48 North Solutions, Inc, Assured Communication Advisors, Clark Construction, Highland Associates, PBS, Stell, and Tetra Tech.
“We are extremely excited to participate in PTC’23, connect with our valued partners and continue to build trust in the market and interest in our cable landing station and backhaul network solution,” said Tyson Johnston, Head of Development for Toptana Technologies and Board President. “It is an incredibly exciting time for Toptana, and PTC’23 will be a remarkable event and networking opportunity for us as we continue to learn, engage, and lay the foundation for the impact we will offer the telecom industry.”
